Oh y'all...this post is a very special one!! I met Suzie through our Tuesdays Together group, and immediately realized she was someone I would want to work with & spend time with in the future! She is so, SO sweet, and incredibly creative! Suzie hosts 'crafternoons' every month at her home where she teaches ladies how to make an adorable craft, and while her guests are making the crafts, she serves them the best lattes you've ever tasted from her latte catering business, The Green Cupboard!
I started talking with my sweet friend, Emily, earlier this year about planning a styled maternity shoot, and when we found out Suzie was pregnant, we knew immediately that she'd be the perfect model! And y'all...it was one of my most favorite shoots to date! Maybe it was all of the little handmade details in the beautiful nursery (and throughout the entire home!), maybe it was the freshly baked-from-scratch blueberry muffins and steaming hot gourmet lattes, or maybe it was the sweet connection between Suzie & Joe that you'll see in these images, but this session was something special!
Is this not the most unique, adorable nursery you've ever seen?! Suzie went with a southwestern theme for Lily's nursery, because she used to live there! I'm a little bit obsessed!
After we photographed the nursery, we grabbed Suzie's hubby, Joe, for a few (a ton, ha!) of photos! He was such a good sport...y'all we were shooting on and off for at least 3 hours!
These next photos are so fun, and I think I love them even more, because I've never shot anything like them before!
Look at that beautiful latte art! Suzie, you're some kind of talented, girlfriend!
Tada! (I wish my coffee looked that wonderful every morning! ;) )
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12
This just may be the most precious, coziest thing I've ever seen!
A funny little story... we wanted to take a few shots of Suzie and Joe in their bedroom with their lattes, because we wanted to capture what they do everyday in real life! I had them hop up on the bed, we grabbed a few shots, and then we headed into the nursery. There are so many adorable little touches in Suzie's home, that I was never really worried or thinking about what was going on in the background (it all worked so perfectly)! It wasn't until I got home and got these images onto my computer that I realized what the lettering on that sign said...and I almost cried!! How perfect?!!
Annnd, another one of my favorites! Their fur baby, Stella, hopped into a few photos, and she was SO good!
After wrapping things up in their adorable home, we took Suzie & Joe to Virginia Tech's campus for a few 'golden hour' shots...complete with a picnic and handmade tee-pee!
Just as the sun started to get very low in the sky, Suzie and Joe changed into something a little bit more elegant, and we grabbed a few more shots with the last bit of light!
And that's a wrap! This shoot was such a dream! Thank you so, so much to all of the vendors who collaborated with us to make it happen! (You can find a list of vendors below!)
P.S. I just got word that Suzie & Joe's little bundle arrived a few weeks early!! So, congratulations to the new parents!! Oh, and a little birdy told me that there just might be a sweet styled newborn session in the near future?! ;)
